Whatshewears.ie: Go Buy Now: Military Jacket

The military jacket is set for a major comeback this season. Okay, so slightly disappointing for all of us die-hard leather lovers (keep your leather jacket, it’ll always be in style) but it’s definitely time for a change.

The “Flak” jacket is undeniably about to have its ‘must-have’ moment, so how about opting for a jacket with a militaristic influence? Think brass buttons, khaki colours, beiges, creams, navy and compliment with a belted waist for a sexily cinched silhouette more

Stylefish.ie: Look Magazine host the first high Street fashion show
One of our Fav fashion Mags ‘Look’ organised the first ever Fashion Show as part of London Fashion week that was open to the Public recently. They choose 14 of our all time Fav high street shops & styled over 100 outfits for us to ohh and ahh over! Top Irish Super Model Erin O’Connor was one of the top models in the show and she said “Before the Look show, Fashion week felr really closed off and that is such a shame as ordinary women are the lifeblood of the Fashion Industry more

Rockin Fashion: His n Her Blog of the week
I 'Róisín Moloney' do solemnly swear to share with you from here on out, my 'Top Fave Blog of the Week' every Wednesday to cater for both girl's & guy's!!! Unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple of years, I'm sure you would have noticed the many Fashion Blogs popping up from every fashionable nook & cranny throughout the globe. Fashion blogging is taking over the fashion world quite literally, with Laura Feinstein reporting for PSFK recently describing style blogs as having the following effect on the selling of fashion items in this digital age: "While actual fiscal proof of the items’ popularity isn’t available, its ubiquity on some of the highest viewed style blogs on the web will surely act as better advertisements to a younger and chic-centric audience than a traditional billboard in Times Square or full page add in Vogue."more

Whisty Blogs Fashion: 70's Inspired Outfit

Inspired by 70’s fashion and the military nod on the Marc Jacobs SS10 runway I mixed vintage fur and wooden platforms with a military shirt and neutral dress for a shopping trip this weekend. Both the shirt and dress are quite slouchy so I pulled in the waist with an old Girl-Guides belt. When I first put on the military shirt I looked a bit too heavy so I broke up the green with the leopard-print scarf. I’m also getting a little bored with wearing black opaque tights so I went for woollen, over-the-knee socks instead. Left is the look without the vintage fur coat, scroll-down for photo with it on, over the shirt. more

Nicky's Rag Tales: Interview with Paula Rowan

Rockin Fashion: Elle Style Awards 2010

WhatSheWears.ie: Ask the Stylist: Communnion
My daughter is making her First Holy Communion this year, and I haven’t a clue as to what should I wear. I’m a young mum (30) and I just had a baby a couple of weeks ago so my figure is a bit bigger than usual . I haven’t a clue as to what would be appropriate so… any ideas? more

Stylebible.ie: Dylan Bradshaw Launch Night
The young and the beautiful stepped out in force last night to join acclaimed hairstylist Dylan Bradshaw to celebrate the launch of his über cool flagship salon in Dublin city centre. The impressive three-storey Georgian building was centre stage of South William Street, with over 500 guests enjoying the exquisite interior of the salon. Owner and host Dylan Bradshaw was joined by his wife Charlotte in welcoming guests throughout the evening as they enjoyed the mouthwatering canapé and champagne reception and mingled their way through the extensive 6000 sq ft salon to the beats of super cool tunes. more

White Rabbitt: Thrifted Ralph Lauren Pants
Last week I bored everybody to death posting about my newly acquired fondness for the slouchy pants. Well, I am back to my subject again! This time it is about a vintage pair of Ralph Lauren high waisted, carrot shaped, super soft cotton trousers I bought in a Charity Shop for €5

OffShoot: I all Edge
I think I'm taking this whole lux grunge thing a bit too far but with the spring summer collections taking over the shops I've very little time left before I'll be expected to wear nudes and florals SO I'm making the best of grey and black and studs while it's still acceptable and before I look like an annoying angsty teenager. Saying that, if I did have a couple hundred quid to splash out on a pair of shoes I'd most certainly be buying these, sure they're mens shoes I dont think I care.
more

Beaut.ie
It’s fairly safe to say that we’re obsessed with nails at the moment. After all Owen Wilson himself has drawled that “nails are so hot right now“: and that has probably had something to do with the rise of the Reverse French, the Chanel Catwalk creations and lace manis among others. Owen usually gets most trends spot on.more

The Stylebitches
Introducing the musical stylings of ‘Crystal Swing’. (No prizes for guessing where they get either part of their name). Never have I been more inclined to emigrate. The mere thoughts of encountering these folk in a seaside bar whilst drunk in Kilkee some New Years Eve makes me shudder to my very core.

Whisty Blogs Fashion: Harpers Bazaar Shoot
I love this shoot, I’m sure I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t go a bit gaga for the dark romanticism of this pair of vigilantes. The bank-robbing rampage of Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow during the Great Depression epitomised rebellion and thus appealed to the disillusioned, unemployed public of America. Their story has continued to influence popular culture; in the late sixties Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway portrayed the pair in a critically acclaimed film. Since then the story has been even more romanticised and glamourised turning the couple into a pair of 20th century Robin Hoods more

Soooali.com
There are a couple of exciting things in the pipeline for soooali.com. I’ll be sharing them with you soon. Nobody believes this top is from River Island and honestly, when I first saw it, I didn’t too. It has all the elements of vintage. The shoulders are pretty cool huge but to me, that’s a good thing. This bag is my dog personified. It’s lovely to cuddle on the way home if you’ve had a bad day or as a pillow!more

Nickys Rags Tales: Marc Jacobs does gentle and stylish for Autumn 2010
Marc Jacobs presented an altogether more gentle collection in New York last week for Autumn Winter 2010. With Period references from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and beyond it seems that Marc Jacobs has succeeded in shunning the fast moving modernity and has managed to produce clothes that are flattering. Skirt were calf length and there was little flesh on show

Stylebible.ie: Approaching Spring Summer with Tess Purcell:
The Spring Summer Season is now in full swing in our stores – with all sorts of interpretations of the seasonal trends which have eventually trickled their way from the catwalks to the high street. But this can prove a little overwhelming for people who haven’t quite settled on a style that they are personally happy with. more

Whatshewears.ie: Tips for choosing the right footwear.
For most of us the reality is that we own more heels than flats or runners, and we have all bought a pair that looked so pretty we had already decided they were coming home with us before we even tried them on.Although for years I have been a slave to shoes I fell in love with, I have now become a bit more conscious of what I put on my feet. There is no point in saying that we are not going to wear heels as much, but if you don’t want to end up with angular toes (medically known as bunions) or trips to the foot doctor, more

Nickys Rag Tales: Fashion News Round Up

Tributes are pouring in following ‘Lee’ Alexander Mc Queens death last week. Sales of his trademark skull scarves and all things carrying his label are being bought up in stores across the world. On Friday his Press Office issued an urgent call to all Fashion Editors to immediately return any samples from the current or past seasons that were on loan (good luck with that one!)

White Rabbit: Style is comfort

I think style as about dressing in what feels comfortable. It may sound simple but I am still learning about it. It is not only about choosing the right size and fit, but also about knowing which clothes will become your second skin. How many times it happened to me that I was wearing a novelty piece, or something I saw on somebody else and admired, and I felt like a sheep dressed in wolf’s clothes. To know how to be stylish is to know yourself.more

Soooali: Check Mate
Houndstooth is such a classic pattern. I found this jacket in Camden Market last year and fell in love with it. It’s a perfect fit. Often I’m running out the door and don’t have time to think of nice outfits to wear, but a jacket can change that so easily. This is the most popular go-to jacket in my wardrobe. It makes me feel like I’m not invisible, because it’s so bold. I saw ‘A Single Man’ today and was blown away. If you’re an emotional person, you can really get sucked right into it, which is quite powerful. The visuals and music are superb. The intensity throughout is executed to perfection, more

I Blog Fashion: London Fashion Week AW 10/11
t's back! London Fashion Week kicks off again at Somerset House this Friday for the unveiling of its AW10 collections. I'm all sorts of excited. Don't know which tickets I've scored until I get to my hotel on Thursday which makes the anticipation all the more palpable. Wonder if this tee I bought will finagle me a front row seat next to 'the bob'? Anna and Annmarie. Besties! Has a ring to it, dontcha think?

I Blog Fashion: Sinead Doyle
It's rare that I get obsessive about clothes. Okay that's a lie. Let me rephrase. It's rare that I obsess ad infinitum about a particular item of clothing. This is THE dress I've not been able to shake since clapping my peepers on it last year.more

Angela Scanlon: Miu Miu SS10 boots are delicious
I’m a sucker for shoes of any description but am currently going through a phase of boot love. Last night I counted my boots. Not including those at my “home house”, there are 12 pairs of black boots, 4 grey and 1 brown. Too much, I know. But… I have absolutely nothing in my boot wardrobe that resembles the whimsical lovelies that showed up on the Miu Miu catwalks for SS10.more
