LISA SHAWGI
Lisa Shawgi is a knitwear designer of Irish and Egyptian/Sudanese parentage. She spent most of her childhood in the Sudan before moving to Dublin as a young teenager and she often uses the juxtaposition of both cultures as an inspiration for her cashmere garments. She graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 2005 and worked for designers such as Lainey Keogh and Vera Wang before beginning to devote all her efforts to her own work.

The creative input of effectively knitting one’s own fabric before setting to work with it is a crucial part of Lisa Shawgi’s decision to specialise in the field of knitwear, and she takes full advantage of her craftsmanship in this area to form her own distinctive style.

Colour and texture are key elements in creating soft, luxurious knitted fabrics. Combined with original and innovative designs. Lisa Shawgi produces unique, eye catching feminine knitwear. Attention to detail is essential in giving each creation beautifully finished features.
