Fashion Insider Nicky Harris

Fashion Houses of the world so they obviously know something that the Enterprise Board does not. It came to my notice (through a post from Irish Designers best advocate Eddie Shanahan) that Enterprise Ireland does not list Fashion in its business categories. Sorry Ireland has a plethora of amazing designers whose work has not gone unnoticed in the major fashion houses of the world. Take Michael Leong for example. A Hairdresser turned Milliner whose works of sheer genius can be seen be anyone perusing Brown Thomas’s Christmas window. Many of these designers work (including Michaels) has ended up in the major guys, you don’t exist/aren’t relevant to the future success of this country. (As far as the Enterprise Board is concerned at least.) Perhaps we need to let them know how we think. I feel an email coming on.

This week I started a little Style Competition on my Blog in conjunction with Lady Umbrella.com, that cult status Limited Edition designer T-shirt Company. The idea is that you give me some ideas of how you would work one of the T’s into a Christmas day outfit. My good friend Maria Fusco is going to be the judge so if you are thinking of entering and please do, the more the merrier. Then think a little glamour! It’s open to anyone; anywhere there is a postal service and finishes next Tuesday. To enter just comment on my blog, or on the nicksragtales Face Book page. Best of Luck

Have a fashionable week ahead…..
