Alphabet Bags was created in 2008 by business partners and couple Hayley Thwaites & Lucas Lepola, two twenty-somethings residing in London (with their two cats Maisy & Alfie). We met at university in 2005 (Hayley studied art history, Lucas studied business) and we share a great passion for all things nice. Alphabet Bags launched quite simply with 26 cotton totes screen printed with the letters A to Z. Over the past year we have been adding to the line with a range of new designs including punctuation bags, number bags and other bold typographic designs. We’re always working on new bag designs to expand the Alphabet Bags collection. Our bags have been made using 100% heavy-weight cotton and have been stitched and screen printed in the UK. We spent many months experimenting with different materials to source the best cotton to make a lovely high quality tote bag.
Our wanderings into the world of online retail and making nice things started with our first site Keep Calm Gallery, where we offer a variety of beautiful prints for the home. Here you can purchase prints designed by the two of us, along with artwork from a selection of our favourite artists and designers.
