Galway Fashion Fiesta Schedule





MONDAY MAY 10:


Born Store in Newtownsmith, Galway City, will be hosting 2 Fashion Shows- 1:30 and 3:30. These shows will feature clothing from Born, as well as some designs from GTI Fashion Studio Students.


TUESDAY MAY 11:


Fashion Fiesta will be launching a static exhibition of students' work at Galway City Museum. Launch starts at 1:30- there will be live music, sangria and tapas. Exhibition features garments, fashion photo-shoots, design boards and window displays. The exhibition will be open until the 21st May.


WEDNESDAY MAY 12:


Zebra in Prospect Hill Galway City will host 2 fashion shows at 1:30 and 3:30. The shows will feature pieces from Zebra, local designers, and fashion students.


THURSDAY MAY 13:


Students of Advanced Certificate in Fashion Industry Practice will showcase what they have learned about retail display in 4 well-known Galway stores. Brown Thomas, Anthony Ryans, Born, and Powells Corner will play host to 'live' window displays with a Spanish theme. There will be live models in the windows from 12-4pm, and the windows will be displayed for the duration of the Fiesta in static form.

The Mad Hatters Tea Party will take place in Busker Brownes, Cross st Galway City at 3pm. Members of the public are encouraged to come along in their best hat and enjoy some tea and cake. There will be Millinery on display by talented local milliners.


FRIDAY MAY 14:


The Fashion Fiesta Finale Show will be the highlight of the week, taking place between the Spanish Arch and the Galway City Museum. It will be an outdoor extraveganza featuring 3 live bands, DJ Gary V, street performers, spanish dancers and a huge fashion show. The Fashion show will feature local boutiques and high st stores Born, A-Wear, Topshop, Feeney's Menswear, Beverly Hills, Cloisters, Aisling Wallace Byrne, Swamp and Tommy Hillfiger. The second half of the show will showcase GTI Fashion Studio Students' designs, including creative garments made from 'found' materials, and garments that were finalists in the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards.
