Swap in the City for the Galway Simon Community

2009 marks Galway Simon Community’s 30th Anniversary of combating homelessness in the West of Ireland. Unfortunately, our services are needed now more than ever, and fundraising has become a vital income stream to assist in the financing of our projects. To reflect the fact that 20% of our service users are women, and acknowledging that we are facing a recession, we have organised an inexpensive fashion event directed towards the ladies. Swap In The City will be a fashion extravaganza with one vital difference –it will offer the women of Galway the opportunity to update their wardrobe in a Guilt Free, Ethical, Stylish way, at zero cost. This event will provide a unique opportunity for women to create their very own 'fashion currency' by swapping their unworn or unwanted pieces from their wardrobes. This will be the first event of its kind in Galway. I have attached a full description of the event along with a poster. Tickets for the event are only ˆ10, which enables you to swap an unlimited amount of clothes at no further expense. All of the proceeds from this event will be going directly to providing accommodation and support to people in Galway who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
